The Northern Territory city Darwin is Australia’s only tropical capital city. Darwin survived bomb damage during World War II and destruction by Cyclone Tracy in 1974 to emerge a modern and thriving city, the nations youngest and one of its most multicultural. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your chosen hotel. The remainder of the day is free to shop for such Top End mementos as pearls, opals or authentic Aboriginal art. Eating out is a treat and the variety, quality and range of international and local cuisine will definitely tempt you.

Leaving Darwin travel on the Arnhem Highway across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains. Stop at Nourlangie Rock where your guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch join a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong. See if you can spot the saltwater crocodiles and colourful range of bird life. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre before returning to Darwin early evening.

Located just 45 minutes from Darwin, the world class Territory Wildlife Park is set on 400 hectares of natural bushland and showcases Territory wildlife in natural habitats. The major exhibits may be reached by 6kms of walking trails or a

free shuttle train. Be sure to include the underwater walk-through aquarium, ‘Birds of Prey’ display and elevated

Monsoon forest walk. Return to Darwin at 1.30 pm.
